Summary
Ilya locked his arm around Shane’s throat and drew him up onto his knees. The hold was snug, a real headlock, the kind that would make most men tap out. Shane didn’t tap out, but he stayed very still. His pulse galloped against the juncture of Ilya’s elbow, powerfully enough that Ilya could feel its insistent throbbing. Everything in the room had been pulled taut—the cord of Ilya’s shoulders, the line of Shane’s back, even the air between them had a rigidity to it. Ilya was breathing heavily, panting open-mouthed against Shane’s sweat-damp temple.
“I could fuck you like this,” Ilya said. “I could fuck you right now, like this, not let you breathe, not let you come.”

Shane blinks. Over the roars of the rest of the table, Ilya has to lean over so that Shane can hear him. His hot breath tickles across Shane’s cheek.
“Hollander? This is okay with you?”
Shane opens his mouth to say no are you all crazy there is no way I could get naked in front of you without you being able to see how desperately I want you, but swallows it down.
“Sure. Yeah, it’s fine. I’m okay.”
Or: the boys gang up on shane during strip poker and ilya is going to kill them dead

He leans in closer, close enough his breath warms Shane’s neck. “Do you want to fuck him?”
Shane stiffens, and fuck he doesn’t mean to be this obvious, doesn’t mean to make Ilya think he isn’t enough for him.
“He is good looking,” Ilya continues, that lazy way of speaking that drives Shane crazy when they’re alone in bed together. “If you want, I want to watch him fuck you.”

When he wiped his mouth with the back of his bare hand, it came away streaked with red. He spat the rest onto the ice with an awful smile and a wink before getting to his feet.
Jane: Can you stay in the dressing room?
Lily: Are you asking or telling?
Jane: You hate being told what to do.
Lily: Not when it's you
Jane: Stay.
Jane: You looked really fucking good taking that hit.

Summary
“Happy winner,” Rozanov says, kissing Shane’s hip. “How does it feel? Good, yes? Such a strong alpha.”
Despite the teasing lilt, a soft, rolling r in strong, Shane can tell that Rozanov is being sincere. He has never gotten the impression that Rozanov uses it as an insult with him—unlike every time he whips it out mid-game to taunt an opponent, or to provoke someone in an interview. Shane blinks down at him, and is reminded of what this is. Of why, in every way, they are implausible.
Rozanov adds, “What?”
“You just never call me that,” Shane says. His grip on Rozanov’s shoulder tightens.

Ilya hums, playing the card he's been considering for this entire conversation. “We could make more interesting, yes? A bet.”
“A bet,” Shane repeats, eyes flashing. “Like what?”
The reporter cuts in. “What about wearing the other player’s jersey?”
They both turn to her, and Shane says, “Like, the loser wears the winner’s jersey?”
“Maybe at the next game in a couple of months?”
“Is a good idea,” Ilya muses, nudging Shane’s elbow. “You will look better in my jersey than in Montreal jersey.”
Shane makes a low noise, his eyes holding a bit of a spark when he looks back to Ilya. It’s what Ilya was hoping for—the tiniest crack in the mask. He can see a hint of exasperated affection around the corners of Shane’s eyes, a little bit of fire burning just beneath the surface. It sends a thrill down Ilya’s spine, and he wonders if Shane will be snarky when Ilya gets him naked tonight.
“That’s not happening,” Shane replies, shaking his head. “Because you’re not winning.”

The pressure lights up every receptor of his touch-starved nervous system, wrenching a small, pained noise from the back of his throat. Every muted sensation comes flooding back so intensely that it almost hurts. He needs Ilya to hold him down until there’s nothing inside him but quiet. He wants to sink into him and disappear.
It takes Shane an entire beat to remember where they are. Fighting against the fog in his mind, he manages to drag his gaze up to meet Ilya’s.
There’s a slow-dawning horror and understanding on Ilya’s face.
