Amber-yellow covered ankles enters the scene, and then the rest of Aziraphale follows, the colour following him as he makes his spiral descent down the stairs until he reaches the ground floor.
Crowley remains transfixed at the sight of him.
Aziraphale sighs softly and offers him a warm smile.
“Apologies for the wait.”
Oh, Crowley is way past caring about waiting if this is the end result.

The box suddenly feels heavy in his hands.
“So uh... I-I bought you something. Y'know, with it being Christmas 'n' all.” He goes for nonchalance as best as he can manage through his bumbling, anxiety surging through his body as he offers the box to Aziraphale.
It's the reason why he decided to keep his sunglasses on as opposed to having them off, going against the per usual when in the safe confines of the bookshop.
“Oh. Oh! Oh, thank you, Crowley! B-but we've never— ”
“s'okay. Think nothing of it.”

Summary
The people of the Narrow's roar and shout at the existence of The Penguin, booing at the sorry excuse of a replica standing in the centre of the arena. When Edward appears on stage as himself, wearing a garish sparkling green suit, slandering Oswald's name, they cheer with him. It's a temporary remedy, but a remedy nonetheless. And Edward drinks it up until he's drunk on it, basking in its laughter and words of scorn towards Oswald that do their best to cover up the pain. It feels good, but the effect will wear off later.

(IMMEDIATE SEQUEL TO 'PRESS A TO KISS ME'.)
Edward hums a little louder before pulling out of his grasp after a few seconds, releasing Oswald from his mouth for a moment of respite. His eyes are full blown black, his cheeks flushed, and a little dishevelled that is equally endearing as it is hot.
Oswald is hit with a sudden wave of intensity, that fine line of indecisiveness returning as to which end of the spectrum on what he'd like to do with this man.
He never imagined such fluctuating thoughts could feel this good.

But Crowley frowned. “You didn’t get to say what you wanted, angel.” He pointed out. Selfless, to the very end.A version of the ending where Crowley and Aziraphale take more than five minutes to think it all through and come up with a solution that, with a bit of luck, God will approve of. Includes a kiss, lots of hand-holding, and a proposal of perhaps a better world where the South Downs cottage can finally, properly, happen.

“I think she just declared us gods, Crowley."A version of the ending where God does indeed create a new, godless universe, only our universe still remains standing, and God is officially done with it. Now it's up to Aziraphale and Crowley to pick up the pieces, and fill the books in the bookshop with the right words to restore their world to how it used to be. (With a few love confessions, proper apologies and dances along the way, as well as improvements to, finally, make the world a better place.)
