    “Keith,” Shiro repeats, more urgent, his voice shaking along with the rest of him. He doesn’t know if it’s from pain, shock, fear, or a terrible cocktail of all three. He does know that Keith is Galra. 

    Keith lets go of him. “What?” he asks, brow lowering and eyes wide. “Why are you looking at me like that?”

    He doesn’t know. Shiro sucks in a sharp breath. Keith is Galra, and he doesn’t know.

    “I’m gonna distract them.” Keith says instantly and makes a move to get past them, but Shiro catches him by the arm and blocks his way.
    “What?! No!” say Shiro and Pidge in unison.
    “I have to stop them so you have enough time to run.” Keith says matter-of-factly. “Or what if they cut the elevator’s cord after you’re in there? I have to go out there.”
    “You’re not doing it, Keith!” Shiro’s heart has already been beating wildly, but just the thought of losing Keith robs Shiro out of breath entirely.
