"Kid, what's wrong?" The strange man with dark hair asked as Izuku struggled irrationally in his grasp, gaze wide and fearful- he kept glancing behind him- checking to see if his dad was still on is tail- wondering how long he had until he was found.
The words were coming out of his mouth in broken babbles, he could barely keep himself from crying and his entire body ached with pain.
"Please- I need- go!" He gasped desperately, body moving frantically and weakly in an attempt to free himself. Izuku felt the man make a move to steady his shaking shoulders, but that only caused him to struggle more urgently. Izuku could tell he was worried, but all the poor boy could think in his mind was how screwed he would be if his dad caught up to him.
This work is no longer being written/edited/added to. Thank you to everyone who did read it, I appreciated everyone's support but I don't feel a strong connection with the work or fandom anymore. Love and hugs from the author!

Summary

Katsuki Bakugo is still mourning the death of his childhood friend, struggling with the heavy guilt over how he treated him. Accepted to UA, he's moving quickly toward his goal to be the best hero; but he still can't seem to forget Deku. The last thing he expects to find at his new school is the ghost of his past.
After Aizawa rescues Izuku and takes him in, the two of them as well as Katsuki find themselves working to build something new. And as the League of Villains starts to dig its roots into society, Izuku can't help but wonder if maybe his quirk has a purpose after all.

Stuck in a ghost-like state, the boy enters a race against time in order to save himself from permanently dying. Much to his luck - or lack of it -, the only person who can see and talk to him in this state is no one other than Kacchan.

Izuku’s mind went blank.
His head filled with white noise like from an old television set his mom used to have in the shop downstairs.
His phone started to ring immediately. But Izuku didn’t—couldn’t pull his eyes away from the train wreck that he was witnessing before him. Shouto smiled at a demur looking Momo. Her perfectly manicured nails reaching out to scoop Shouto’s long, pale fingers into her own. The cheers that rang from the staff at the studio echoed around his and Shouto’s modern looking apartment they have shared together for the last six years.
His phone pinged as text messaged started to flood his inbox.
“Yes,” Shouto said with that smile of his. “We can’t wait to be married.There truly isn’t anyone else out there for me who makes me as happy as Momo does.”
In that moment, Izuku Midoriya watched as his entire life fell apart on national television.

It goes a little something like this:
Izuku isn't real. Not in the sense that he cannot be perceived but in the sense that he is not registered in any database, legal or otherwise. He isn't real in the sense that the people who meet him believe him to be a hallucination at first. He isn't real in the sense that neither he nor his quirk should exist. Izuku isn't real.
Until he is.
All of a sudden, Izuku has a real dad (who's a hero!!), a brother who would die (and probably kill) for him, and a rag tag group of friends (and maybe someone more) and life doesn't look so bleak.
It's a shame life was never the issue.

Summary
Corpse is a former gang member who's known the ins and outs of violence ever since he was a child. After finding his way out of that corrupt, poisonous system without a single surviving friend nor family member, he wishes nothing more than to live a quiet, happy life.
After hopping around from place to place to find a proper home, he seems to come back to the home he left long ago and decides he'll mend it with the rest of his years. As his work-aged hands try to piece his new house together, he sees another building in the distance. It reads, "The Safe Haven Cafe" all lit up in gentle colors and fluorescent design. Inside holds a man around his age. A person, kind and gentle, who loves the simple things in everything he does, and allows him into his heart with open arms. It doesn't take long for Corpse to fall for him. For the first time in years, he finds another person he can rely on.
Unbeknownst to him, he would come to realize that the person he thought would make him forget the past and mend the future, would actually be the reason why he falls back into the world he tried so hard to run away from.
