Dick’s whole body tensed, adrenaline shooting through him as he woke to full alertness in the span of a second. In the background, he logged that he was still in his old bedroom, spending the night at the manor before going back to New York to figure out who he was gonna be now that he wasn’t Robin. The window was dark, but it had the edge of dawn’s coming approach, so Batman and … Robin were back from patrol and most likely already in bed. He sat up sharply.
At the foot of his bed there was a silhouetted figure. It took him just a second to place it as Jason. He was carrying something long and thick. A club? No, a baseball bat.

Summary
Fics for the No True Pair challenge on Dreamwidth. A list of characters was made before the prompts were revealed, pairing up the characters at random with fun prompts. I won't be doing every one for the month, but I plan to do a couple fun ones!

A Jason & Bruce centered AU in which
- Jason was resurrected but re-encountered Bruce while homeless and brain damaged instead of being found by Talia.
- No Lazarus Pit.
- Tim is not Robin and does not appear in the series.
- Detective Comics 569-570 went differently, so Selina stayed the version of Catwoman she was in the 80s comics, a hero and sometimes partner to Batman. Her and Bruce's struggles with trusting each other remained, and Jason's death...well, let's say it didn't help their relationship.- Words:

“And now I’ve got to bring you in,” Dick said, voice cracking. “Did you think of that? That now I’ve got to-”
“Can’t let you do that, ’m afraid, still got a job to do,” Jason said, half-smile on his face.

"Funny you say that," Dick replies, pushing the clump of hair accumulated over the net on the drain with his feet, "You're the one giving me a headache."
Bruce should lash out any second, explain in cutting detail just how Dick had fucked up, give his verdict and leave Dick to shower in misery.
He is, unfortunately, every bit as unpredictable as a god. Whenever Dick thinks he has the permutations of the rituals to appease or provoke him down pat, he proves him wrong, leaves him floundering before catching him and making him remember just how the soft and warm the landing feels in his arms.
