After his parents react poorly to his reveal, Danny escapes to the only person he thinks can help him - Bruce Wayne. He doesn't know what to expect when he gets there, but it has to be better than where he is, surely? He certainly doesn't expect to be reunited with his long lost twin brother Damian. It's funny how things work out that way.

Danny wants nothing to do with any of it. He just wants to sell burgers and survive. Actually, he'd like to go home again, but since that isn't possible, he'll stick with burgers.
Gotham's vigilante's have other plans.
This is why Danny doesn't do favors.

Summary
Is it running from your problems if your problems consider you to be a dead imprint of consciousness that killed their son? Yes, but Danny tries not to think about how his nightmares of his parents trying to kill him came true when they found out he was Phantom.
After being on the run from his parents and the government for a couple of months, moving from town to town, Danny ends up in Gotham City and decides to risk staying in Batman's territory. He'd take the wrath of Batman over live vivisection via beloved parents or being studied and torn apart by the government. Besides, he's not a meta. Being dead is a medical condition.

A wave washes over my face, shocking me back to my immediate situation. I’m alive, somehow, but for how long? As I tread water, my mind races with various explanations as the what the fuck is going on. Is this the afterlife? Some sort of twisted dream? Or something else entirely?
In the distance, I hear what sounds like a yell. Hope blooms in my chest as I turn towards the noise, squinting against the sun's glare on the water. Is that a boat? Hope surges within me as I begin to swim, determined to reach a reprieve from my crazy predicament.
Suddenly, something whips past my face, and I realize that it had to have come from the ship ahead of me. I turn to look at the object, only to notice the odd skin-like texture of it. Is that... an arm?

The expensive suit and watch were missing. Instead, he wore all black now. A long sleeve shirt, black slacks and black loafers. The black leather gloves were the only thing the same. This fact did nothing to calm my racing heart. Something told me the wardrobe change wasn’t a good sign.
“Oh. You noticed,” Roman Sionis said as he walked closer. “Blood is… difficult to get out of linen, so I like to wear something a little more… forgiving when I’m working. Or playing.”
He stalked up to me and grabbed my chin in an iron grip. Tilting my head this way and that, he hummed.
Then smacked me right across the face.
Right where Dylan had hit me earlier.
My lip split again; the scab ripped away by the casual violence. I cried out and held my freshly throbbing face with both hands. Blood poured out of my mouth and I let it drip onto the floor between my bare feet.
“You know what they say… do what you love and you’ll never really work a day in your life,” he intoned. A grotesque amount of glee in his voice. “You have a part to play now, doll.”
I was really beginning to hate that word.

To top it all off, she’s got magic at her fingertips – magic that for some reason has all the duel spirits worked up and ready to send her packing into the next world.
But spite is a two-way street and while her luck is bog standard, there’s nothing like getting to swing back with two decades of power creep attached to an unusual ability that is reading the damn cards. She just needs to pray she doesn’t brick in a life-or-death duel.
