"Are you asking me why a wall is a wall?" That threw him enough for a moment, his face shifting into pure confusion. "I - what? No? Did Pomni move her room?"
Jax thought he'd be prepared for any answer. Any variant of yes, because what the hell else could it be? That she abstracted in the night and Caine just poofed her and all things related to her away? No because why would he do that? He'd never erased someone's room when they abstracted before. The rest of them would have surely heard an abstracted Pomni too, but as far as he could tell no one had. There weren't any damage marks done to the nearby walls or floor either, nothing to indicate some beast had run through it and destroyed things.
"Who?"

After the awards show, still reeling from his panic attack and trying to ignore his emotions, Jax mumbles to himself about how it’d be easier if Pomni had never arrived in the circus just before he goes to bed.
And then he wakes up and no one else can seem to remember her. He’s convinced it’s a prank. It’s not.
(set post ep 6 but pre ep 7, takes a lot of inspo from ep 7 though. may not interact much but i love seeing yalls feedback anyway!)

As the bullet collides with Leo’s right bicep in what feels like slow motion, for some reason all he has the ability to think is that it looks sort of…strange. Strange, because as it plunges into his skin, it injects not glowing blue, but…purple. If it is a de-mutanizer, it’s a different color than he remembers.
The shock of it makes him stumble. Deep in his core, he feels the chemical begin to force him to change.
“What did you do to me?” He says, eyes going blurry as he sinks to his knees. He can feel his bones rearranging beneath his skin, he feels his body shrink in on itself as he becomes smaller. He feels weaker. “What did you do?” He can barely look at Kendra, but his eyes find her and she’s smiling in a sickening way.
“I fixed you, freak. You’re human.”

Meddlesome human!" and Luigi hadn't thought, just acted. That was three years ago now.
By day, Luigi is his normal old self, but at night...he becomes something very different and this new form comes with a few...complications. Every six months, he goes into a week-long heat. They're agony on his own. Then he discovers that seeking a no-strings partner for the heat is commonplace in koopa society. So maybe he doesn't have to suffer alone after all. There are even reputable agencies who'll help find koopas suitable partners. Maybe this is a really bad idea. What if his body isn't accepted? If this world was anything like the one they'd left, could he even be sure he'd be allowed to peacefully exist if word got out? True, the agency swore not to part with his personal information, but...Luigi was scared. Terrified. But also, he really needed this. Maybe he should take a chance.

Jax whacks the plastic gun in his hand hard enough it glitches, grin twitching higher in the corners. "I think Caine messed with my gun, it doesn't seem to shoot right. Mind holding still so I can test that theory?"
"In your dreams, hairball." Pomni manages to duck away from another steadily fired beam. His voice sends her feet speeding away again, gun trained steadily on the pocket of his stupidly pink overalls. She can't help the small smile that tucks itself into her mouth as she runs away, cheeks bunching from where her lips tilt in the edges.
"Awh, come on, Pom! What's with all the sudden competition? You used to looove making peace with everyone. Where'd that little pacifist spirit go?" The smirk in his voice sets Pomni's teeth grating, and rockets her annoyance high enough that she sends out a blast as she moves.

She tries to, anyway, even if certain bunny-eared castmates were seemingly determined to do everything in their power to disturb said routine, and make her wonder whether the urge to fight to keep something genuine alive in a fake, plastic world is really worth it after all.
When Caine's newest adventure sends the troupe on a ski resort day trip, she may finally have the opportunity to get some of the answers she's been waiting for. Whether they'll be exactly what she's been hoping for, however, is another question entirely.
Or, the one where Jax and Pomni have another fight, get stuck on a ski lift, and things pretty much spiral from there.

“Jax? Did he..? Did he threaten you?” Ragatha felt her heart drop, despite her talk with kinger she still couldn't help but blame herself for leaving Pomni with Jax, her hand wrapped the wooden arm of her rocking chair.
“What.? No! No no.. I'm worried for him, I mean..” she shuffled on ragatha's bed, “ I've never met someone before they abstracted but…” she could only make herself make eye contact for a second at a time before looking back at her hands, or the bed or anything else.
