If Shinsou Hitoshi had a nickel for every time he thought he was about to die and his only protector would be a kid shorter than him cosplaying Mothman, he’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot- but it’s weird that it happened twice, right?
This time, though, he was in an alley at around 11:28 at night, so at least it was a slightly more respectable time and place to get murdered.

Summary
Ochako Uraraka didn’t cry when she helplessly had to watch her best friend hunted down and killed for sports. It was a joyful occasion: another one of those heinous, demonic beasts, was gone thanks to the monster hunters, and many humans, the people of her village, were safe once again from being turned into monsters.
So instead, she cried in the comfort of her home, where no-one could see or hear her weep. She let everything out, merely wash over her, said goodbye to the memory of her, what she represented, and went on with her life, as she was expected to.
The worst thing you could be —other than a witch or a monster— was a sympathiser.
In her grief and anguish she lamented how unfair it was, leaving her once again unscathed by the infection, but taking away her dear friend so swiftly, so horribly.
She wished it had taken her too— taken her instead.
Now, seeing the pile of books she had been holding just a few seconds before then, magically floating in front of her, she finally had her wish.
And someone to blame: a cryptic blonde hiding in the woods.
