Or at least that was what his mother liked to tell him, furious with another abandoned lesson or money spent on new speakers or the box dyed streaks of black in his hair. Riddle didn’t agree. His restraint was excellent, thank you very much. It was why he didn’t do surprise lives right outside the police station anymore, or didn’t drop straight out of college.

A masquerade ball? Usually NRC doesn’t do anything fancy, or any dances at all. Crowley is quite a wildcard, but this budget-blowing ball seems too out of character, even for him.
And that one little sentence that Ace wasn’t even sure if his eyes read right.
Grab a mask, and a date?!
He reads the poster again to make sure his eyes aren’t playing tricks on him. Then he reads it again. And again.
This is an all-boys school, so logically, a stereotypical date is assumed to be a girl from another school…
Either the world was about to end or Crowley finally lost the plot.
