"Ah," Wednesday said, her voice dangerously calm, her gaze as cold. "So it’s not about the younger werewolves needing support. It’s about your fragile masculinity—bloated, brittle, and as useful as a paper leash in a dog fight." Her words were steady and sharp, calm in the face of five werewolves.

Enid just wanted to be kind—to make the underclassmen feel wanted and less alone, to be the person she never had when she was a freshman. Wednesday, on the other hand, just wanted solitude and to enjoy her time with Enid in peace. She didn’t want to be dragged into pack politics she had no business being a part of.
What infuriated Wednesday the most was having to watch Enid suffer under the weight of mistreatment—especially at the hands of those who were supposed to be her pack leaders.

Wednesday blinked once, then twice, her steel-cold mask cracking just enough for the tiniest glimmer of recognition. She tilted her head, scrutinizing him in a way that made Pubert squirm under her gaze.
