Jason is both annoyed and weirdly flattered when the replacement turns up to ask him for help. He mentally rearranges his calendar so he can be free Wednesday evening and says, “No, fuck off, I have very important business going on.”
Tim eyes his 72” TV playing Japanese wrestling more judgmentally than it really deserves.
“Important crime things,” Jason emphasizes. “Make Wingdick do it.”Jason doesn't think much of it when Tim needs his help, or Damian moves in, or even when Dick turns up looking beat all to hell. But at some point he realizes that he might be the best option his brothers have to recover from the cycle of violence that Batman has set up, and all he can think is that things were much easier when he was the villain.

Jason lies, “Sure, I’ll take it up with Bruce.”
“Sure you will,” Tim scoffs.
Jason changes his mind, and decides he will take it up with Bruce. “I don’t have the time to keep being your nanny,” he announces and then says, disapprovingly, “you skateboard, why don’t you have knee and elbow pads?”
“I’m Robin,” Tim snaps, like he didn’t put pants on the costume like a little wuss.

Jason waves at the (for lack of a better word) serial killer wall.“Don’t you also have one of these?” Dick asks.
“Mine isn’t color-coded, dingdong, it's not a serial killer wall,” Jason hisses.
Dick gives him a pitying look. “Whatever you need to tell yourself.”
“What do you do during cases then?”
“Forget things, like a cool person.” Dick replies, so promptly that Jason knows he walked into a trap.
“Copaganda,” Jason scoffs.
Dick smiles beatifically and replies, “This ass is copaganda.”

Summary
The destination he has in mind is unclear — unnamed, yet, more accurately. Jason doesn’t know where he’s going, or what he’s going to do when he gets there. A few hours’ drive just didn’t seem far enough to be away from the expanse of Gotham, not when Bristol itself rolled out several miles around the city proper, so he cranked it up a few hours. Chicago seemed like a far enough place away, until he got onto I-80 and a terror seized him as he remembered Dick had spent a brief stint as an officer in Chicago. So he kept driving west.
Keeps. Keeps driving west. Jason Todd has no idea where he’s going or no idea what he’s going to do when he gets there, but he knows with certainty three things:
Jason Todd is a wanted man.
Jason Todd is the Red Hood.
And Jason Todd absolutely cannot go back home.

“No, Jason, do not,” Dick says in the same tone Jason uses to tell his dog not to chew on his boots.

Damian pulls out his phone and dials Richard’s number- his chauffeur has been unfortunately painstakingly instructed to answer no calls whatsoever from Damian, and Alfred has begun to pretend that phones do not exist during school hours. Unsurprisingly, as it is eight in the morning, it goes to voicemail. Damian waits impatiently for the beep. “Richard,” he says, in tones of the deeply suffering, “this place is a hostile environment. I must be collected post-haste, as after this latest indignity I am dropping out. Come at once, or I may die here.”
The dynamic duo attend a parent-teacher conference. No one has a good day.

“Yes,” Merlin says. “But after that, too, since I’m not like, 100% positive that he’s going to know what a fish ladder is. I figure we’ve got to do some work on that and probably his English before we let him go off into the wild.”
“Right. Obviously, the English. But what happens if someone tries to put another body in the lake while you’re here?”
Merlin doesn’t have an answer to that.
(Three women's bodies are dumped into a lake, and detective Gwaine Morgan is assigned the case. He does not anticipate said lake to be guarded by a local 12 year-old and is even less prepared for what happens when the 12 year-old becomes his murderer's next target.)

Dick jokes, a lot, about being the only reason Bruce still remembers how to talk to people. About breaking him in for everyone else. He was Robin first, and he was Robin longest, and he’s why Bruce took in the others, he’s why Bruce isn’t dead in a ditch somewhere.
And the jokes are funny! He’s never trying to be passive aggressive, or guilt trip, or whatever else. He and Bruce have spent enough time, now, pointedly not actually looking at each other, pulling words out in painful fits and starts. Dick knows where they stand. They’re good.
