The harsh neon lights from the strip threw sharp, colorful shadows across his features, highlighting the strong clench of his jaw and the thick texture of his curls. But beneath that usual mask of Russian arrogance, he looked incredibly young. Almost cute. It was a soft, vulnerable side that Ilya never allowed the media or the fans to see, and Shane was the only one witnessing it.
Looking at him, a sudden, terrifying realization hit Shane with the force of an open-ice hit.

At first resistant to become close to Izuku, over time their bond pulls them inexorably closer together until they crash into each other and hurtle through their lives with enough force to change all those that surround them. Caught in the machinations of forces both seen and unseen, they twist and strain and contort themselves in an effort to stay joined, stay together. But the truth of their relationship is obvious by now; near or far, together or apart, they circle each other as two stars locked in each other's gravitational pull. Their lives and their futures plummet toward each other, unrelenting and unstoppable.
But so long as they can trust each other, they just might survive the fall.

No, Felix wants to say, knee jerk and tinged with the anxiety that something will go wrong. But that would be a lie. He’s been ready since he flipped Chan on the mat, staring down at his flushed face and wishing more than anything to crawl under his skin.

It gets a smile from Chan, and that feels a little like a victory.

Ilya does not have time for this. It’s almost incredible, and frankly humiliating, how fast his anger has been extinguished by burning worry. Shane’s right, he should be furious. But that’s not Ilya’s priority, now. ‘’Hollander, are you listening, yes?’’, Ilya insists. He confusedly stares at his reflection on the window. When did he even got up from the couch? ‘’Where are you?’’, he repeats, stressing on every word with a careful pause.
Shane seems intentioned to ignore Ilya’s bleeding questions like’s a sacred mission. Just to make his heart dry out from paranoia, probably. The silence is broken by a sniff, followed by a gulp. Shane sounds now far from the phone:
‘’Rose. Rose, he’s mad’’, he moans in a strangled whisper.
Ilya’s body freezes.
Or, Shane and Rose break up, and they’re up to celebrations. Rose decides it’s time for Shane to distract himself for a night. It absolutely doesn’t go as planned.

Summary

It is pretty much love at first sight even though they come from very different worlds. They change the direction of each others lives and give each other things they both thought they would never have. However, getting there holds a whole lot of challenges for them.
