It was a cold and rainy early autumn afternoon in the small, remote village of Storibruk.
Low, heavy gray clouds rolled over the village, shielding it from the last bit of sun rays.
A piercing cold, strong wind swept by, causing the old oak, beech, ash, and elm trees that surrounded the village to sway back and forth.
Leaves of purple, red, orange, yellow, and brown were stripped from the branches and slowly danced their way back down to the earth, where they would decay.
Even though it was raining dragons and griffins outside, that did not stop the villagers of Storibruk from doing their everyday routines.

Donnie and Splinter idly chatted, Raph joining in at points. Mikey talked to Leo about the book he was reading, something about how it was a vampire novel that predated Dracula and how it was most likely sent to burn because of the erotic and queer themes.
For a moment, just one moment, the world was calm.
And then it wasn't.
A strange sound and smell clouded Raphael's senses. He abruptly stood and looked to the ceiling, zeroing in on the sound.
"Everyone out." His voice was stern as he ushered his siblings and father out of the room; first Leo who briskly walked down the hallway, then Donnie and Mikey, and after them Raph and Splinter.
Then the world crumbled.
