Then Merlin’s body started morphing. He looked in horror, the knights seemed shocked and hesitant, what had the witch done to him? His body shrank, his hair lengthened and in a short period of time, perhaps seconds, it stopped.
Merlin looked different...his body didn’t melt or do anything strange like he feared. But, it was weird and Arthur couldn’t believe what was in front of his eyes. Inexplicably, the witch’s spell had turned his manservant into a woman!
Or; in order to teach arthur some empathy for the marginalized, a witch attempts to turn him into a woman, but merlin gets hit instead. They deal with the new dynamic and learn somethings about themselves.

While Arthur painstakingly repeals the ban on magic, he lashes out at Merlin. The warlock, meanwhile, just found out his mother wants to move to Camelot, and asks for a raise. Refusing to hear him out, Arthur snaps, and accuses Merlin of spending all his money at the tavern. So Merlin decides to finally go.

Their paths crossed not too long ago, and since then they've been more or less on the same track. Merlin ensures every day that Arthur's royal backside doesn't meet its demise, while Arthur remains oblivious, believing himself untouchable.

Merlin sets off to Ealdor using the excuse of visiting her mother, hiding the true reason behind her trip to herself. However when Arthur and the knights tag along (totally because they have business in that area of the kingdom and NOT because they're worried about Merlin traveling by herself) things get complicated. Merlin doesn't wish to tell them about the real reason she's going to Ealdor, shame of falling to societies expectations of her keeping her mouth sealed tightly. However when the truth gets revealed how will Arthur react to potentially losing his Merlin to those very same expectations? Will he break through his own societal pressures to keep her? Or simply watch her go?

Merlin’s eyes widened, and a stinging sensation nestled its way into his skin as the druid’s magic filled the room.
“The decision is yours to make. The Triple Goddess will make her’s in return.”
OR
It was always going to be Arthur. Even if it meant taking the life of one of his own, Merlin was always going to choose the path that saw Arthur live. A seer offers Emrys a choice and a promise in one, and for once Merlin acts upon it.
