Lan Qiren sat with Lan Xichen, biding his time as his elder nephew poured tea. It wasn't until Lan Xichen brought the fine cup up to his mouth to sip that he asked his question—"What is Wangji's relationship with Wei Wuxian?"
His nephew did not quite choke, but it was a near thing. Of course, decades of strict discipline had made it so that Lan Xichen simply inhaled too deeply, and in too close of a vicinity to his steaming tea. Lan Qiren sipped patiently.
"Ah," Lan Xichen smiled delicately. "I believe them to be on good terms, though I am unsure of the exact nature of their relationship."
"I figured so. A letter from Lotus Pier was received earlier today. A Jiang retinue, accompanied by their Sect Leader, will be arriving tomorrow to discuss a potential engagement between Wangji and Wei Wuxian."
