Will’s hands carefully came up, one around Mike’s upper waist, the other on his shoulder.
Their legs tangled, the whole experience getting better and better. Then Mike pulled away.
They were both breathing heavily.
“Um, Will..?”
“Yeah?” he asked, shyly.
“Can you uh… like, get on my lap?”
Will looked at him, surprised, but the shock was not to read on his face. “Um, okay. Yeah.”He awkwardly got onto his knees, pushing off the blankets. Mike sat up against the headboard. Then Will slowly and carefully placed one leg over Mike’s lap, soon followed by the other, until he was sitting on him.

Summary
Mike thought everything would go back to normal after Will came back from the Upside Down. That couldn't be further from the truth. His best friend was returned to him and yet everything felt like it was falling apart. Between the partial bond that they were being forced to break and an ever present threat looming in the distance, Mike felt more alone than ever and on the verge of losing Will completely. It might take a little intervention and a dash of tween rebellion, but perhaps not everything is as bleak as it may seem.
