He was the odd thing on the edge of the painting that didn't quite fit the painter's style- the thing that would keep art enthusiasts confused for years after the artist's passing. When the painting was hung in grand halls, people would always want to know why that odd thing was there in the background because it was evident to anyone who looked that it just didn't belong.
"I wouldn't want to intrude," Shouto finally stated. Because that's all he felt like he'd been doing as of late when it came to his two best friends. Of course, he wanted to spend time with them. But he couldn't help feeling left out whenever he was around them, even though it wasn't their fault.
