Summary
Dealing with Martin these last few months has been… interesting. Jon tries not to think too deeply about the fact that he’s been… consorting with a monster. But Martin had saved his life, had helped him recover from Prentiss’ attack, had eventually taken Jon back to the surface and, most importantly, hadn’t tried to fucking eat him. That had to count for something.
It really had to. Because Jon had let himself get too comfortable with the tarantula stalking his office. Had let his guard down because of Martin’s unrelenting, seemingly genuine doting.
Jon was an idiot. Really, he was.
Because now he is in the tunnels, bound, and Martin is approaching, and Jon is painfully aware of how small he is.

Summary
Martin Blackwood is a selkie that hasn't taken human form in many years for fear of having his skin stolen and being trapped by a human captor. Unfortunately, after a run-in with some violently drunk men while lying on the beach amongst common harbor seals, he finds himself captured anyway- by the scientists running the Rehabilitate and Release program at the Magnus Marine Life Research Center and Aquarium in Bournemouth, England.
Jonathan Sims is a marine biologist working at the Magnus Center. With a double-major in paranormal sciences, his job is to screen any new creatures the Center acquires in order to find out if they are mundane or if they carry traits of the supernatural that would prompt further study.
