There is no waking world, only different Spheres created by various people, Josafa creating the Dreamsphere.
Josafa is an old man, not a god.
Clovis is alive at the same time as Nashatra
Nash and Adelaide are kids for a majority of the story.
A lot of the rules of the Dreamsphere dont apply, or at least apply in different ways that you'll see :D
