Summary
“Eighteen years ago, an earthquake ripped through Gotham City, and in the aftermath, instead of helping, the US government sealed the city under a ‘quarantine’ and left them to die. Two years later, when signs of life and even civilisation were still detectable inside the shattered city, the government sent the military in to reclaim and rehabilitate Gotham. Gotham has not forgotten, and they have not forgiven either.”
An AU where an altered version of No Man’s Land happened while Bruce was in his late teens/early twenties, and Batman was born in the hellish crucible of a trapped city that was left for dead and then violently retaken. Gotham may pretend to run by mainlander rules for the sake of those who would have died otherwise, but under the surface, Bruce, Jim, Leslie, Ivy and Oswald and their pack keep their own council, and look with jaundiced eyes on the mainland.

Summary
"fallen stars" is set in a fictional but modern-esque sort of world, created to explore mature-rated themes, and I plan to earn that rating so this is your warning! Please make sure you're in the right mental state to handle the tags before reading, for some are arguably worse than others. Also, to note, I am only using less common/popular ships as a fun challenge and also because rarepairs deserve multific aus and other such nice things too :D
I promise that I plan to end the entirety of the AU on a positive, happy ending note, but the individual fics themselves do not have guaranteed happy endings. The content is mostly hurt/comfort, though there is hurt/no comfort, but if you're anything like me, knowing that's not the end of their story is comforting for getting through angsty sections.
The fics are ordered in chronological order, but span over multiple different characters and their stories, meaning that most of the fics can be read standalone if you only wish to read some and not the whole AU.
