Ronin, still grieving for Tara, is trying to move on. Everyone treats him like glass and he can't find anyone to be around. But then suddenly MK is there, and he found someone who just…understands, someone he can talk to and be with, without being thought of as fragile. Two-shot: Pre-Ronin/MK, mention of Nod/MK and Ronin/Tara.
To his surprise, he saw that there was already someone else there.
Mary Katherine, the girl who'd shrunk and help them save the forest and helped protect the pod, was kneeling at the spot where Tara had died.
He could see the 'Queen Tara' etched out onto the stone, as well as a crude daisy drawing underneath that, and felt his lips twitch up, though he never fully smiled.
"You didn't have to do that," he snuck up on her, guessing that the stomper girl had gotten a stone and carved all that onto it.
"I felt like I did," she told him honestly

But no amount of fucking darkness would ever stop Stitch from fighting for his brother's life, no matter how much of a self-sacrificing asshole Fox could be.
(Or, one of Fox's closest brothers does his best to hold him together as he falls apart at the seams, and it just might be why Fox lives.)

And Raleigh hated the idea. Of course he did, Chuck could hardly expect differently. He himself was pissed, actually, because he didn’t want Raleigh in his head. Chuck might, possibly, be in love with Raleigh Becket, but that didn’t mean he had to like him. And he didn’t. Raleigh was an entitled, self-absorbed ass. Chuck did not want to do this. But, he also didn’t have a choice. What else was new, huh?

A position assigned him after his one taste of terror and glory on Geonosis. Now forever confined to the cold, concrete basement of the Senate building, and the streets of a rotting planet that did not want him. Fox was a brother, to his batchers scattered across the galaxy, and to his men on Coruscant. He was a protector, forced to keep his brothers safe from the senators they were meant to serve. Fox was a hardass, allegedly. He was a pencil pusher, a killer, a punching bag and a play thing. In the end, however, Fox was only one thing. He’d been this when he was hardly a cadet, let alone a soldier, and he would be it until the day he died.
Above all else, Fox was a liar.

Things were simple as Fox saw them now that the Coruscant Guard was kicked out to make room for natborns that were less painful for the frankly clone-phobic populace to see:
1 - No one wanted the Guard to join the 501st.
2 - No one wanted the ex-Coruscant Guard anywhere actually
3 - The feeling was mutual.Unfortunately, orders were orders, and it was General Skywalker who had the dubious honour of taking them in to make them "decent, integrated clones," or some shit like that. Until they all die killed by droids, that is.
And again, he had only accepted on insistence – read "quasi-harassment" – of Senator Amidala.
What a wonderful direction their life was taking...
Fortunately, he still had his brothers.
