Summary
Some of the 'fanon' type biographies and other background information essays I've created for canon characters and original characters in the Desperate Hours AU, to use as 'cheat sheets' for myself, to help me remember: how I picture them in my mind's eye; how I've interpreted/changed Tolkien canon as it relates to them; how they relate to (and refer to) other characters; and various other details. Also, essays/discussions on other topics. An Index of chapter topics is now included as chapter 1.
Story now updated with:
Chapter 18. Criminal Justice in Fourth Age Valinor (including in respect of Reborn Kinslayers (specifically the Reborn sons of Feanor))
Chapter 18 Summary: Also including a very brief description of what happened immediately after the four brothers (Maedhros, Maglor, Amrod, and Amras) were Reborn, and a few snippets of dialogue at the end between Elrond, Maedhros, and Fingon.
Also, Chapter 14, 'The Fate of Feanor and his Sons after their Deaths, has now been updated to include Maedhros' role as a consoler of other victims of Sauron and Morgoth while in the Halls of Mandos

Summary

Or, Fingon outmaneuvers Maedhros. It’s for his own good, of course.

Summary
This series is Faramir-centric, in an AU where Faramir is secretly the illegitimate son of Aragorn. In the course of writing the first main story about Faramir and Aragorn beginning to work together before they knew about this relationship (Beginnings & Endings), I rather got derailed into developing a bunch of other characters, which is where most of the stories come from. It is entirely my intention to return to finish Beginnings & Endings.
Please note that, currently, many of the stories in the DH AU include spanking, or some element of corporal punishment, in at least one chapter. If you would rather read stories without spanking or corporal punishment, most of my DH AU stories are re-written to exclude all of that in the Desperate Hours Alternate Universe Gen Version, available here: https://archiveofourown.org/series/16409 under my SusanaR main pseudonym.
Below in the notes I have listed the major distinctions from, and certain elaborations on, the canon of Tolkien's Legendarium, for purposes of this AU, which I am calling the Desperate Hours alternate universe (DH AU).

Summary
This gen version of my Desperate Hours series is marked gen because it has no corporal punishment elements in it.
