Tell who? The town was empty except for him and Doc and last Avid saw Pyro, they had been stalking around Oakhurst calling humans livestock, tangling wither rose stalks around fence gates like barbed wire before Avid and Drift chased him off. Now he wanted to talk? As if they could trust that.
Avid steeled himself and demanded, “Who’s them?”
Pyro ignored him, eyes only for Legundo, and crept closer. Ghostly white hair. Curled claws. A fang pressed into his bottom lip. “You mentioned… a cure?”

Summary
Balancing precariously on the one block wide netherrack bridge, gusts of stinging cinders hooking under the seams of their armor, Ranboo crept behind Technoblade as he extended their way forward. Far below them, dark swirling soul sand stripped the bones of long dead monstrosities. The valley was too far across for an easy enderpearl throw (and they were starting to run low), but instead of crossing the relatively mob-less stretch of nether, Techno had broken out his bridging skills.
Another hot slap of air rocked Ranboo over the open drop and they crouched lower, trying to compensate for their spindly height. “Hey, uh, it's fine, but why didn’t we just cross the valley on foot?”
Techno looked up. “Oh! I guess you could have done that, huh? Soul sand doesn’t really agree with me.”

"I forgot I can't sleep," Drift ends up saying, tongue feeling thick and clumsy in her mouth. Scott stares. Shelby, on the other hand, is perfectly still for a moment before they snort in the back of their throat, the noise breaking into light giggles at it makes its way up.
"Sorry, sorry!" she says, covering her mouth with her hand. "It's just the look on your face. I've actually done that, too. Things like that are so mundane that I think we usually don't think about them at all, which makes it easy to forget it's changed. Like breathing."

In Oakhurst, with violence lurking around every corner, the benefits of vampirism are obvious. But once Drift makes it out and back to her home in the capital, where the rhythms of everyday life continue, more disadvantages start presenting themselves.
