“I like when you’re like this.”
The words are soft, like a confession Will wasn’t supposed to share. Like he’s telling Mike a secret, hushed into his ear in Castle Byers when they were ten.
“What?” Mike swallows.
“Y’know, leading. When you sound worried…it’s like you care.”
“I do care, Will.” Mike doesn’t know what to say. “You’re my best friend.”
OR; dorming with Will at university is killing Mike and he has no way of coping with it. Until he does.

Summary
[Mike's POV]
“And us? …We're friends?” The irony hits Mike too late, a recollection amongst the fuzz in his brain, static of lost signal.
Briefly, Will tenses too. Finally, he twists the key correctly and his apartment door clicks open and he turns his head to level Mike over his shoulder. “Friends? No, thanks.”
Will opens the door and closes it after himself in Mike's face, the slam echoing through his head at the memory, like the ambiance on the tower.
(Aka. Mike goes to NYC to try and win Will over and/or back).

“There’s so many. It’s confusing. Like a maze almost” El continues, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion but also concern.
Mike barely has a second to process the words spilling out of his mouth until they hang heavy in the air.
“Maybe I can guide you?”

Summary
“I usually have pretty good judgment,” Garcia continues. “I stay calm, I think clearly, and I make logical choices. But when you came to me with extremely reasonable concerns about someone I’ve worked with for a long time, I snapped at you and shut you down. You deserved patience, and advice, and respect,” Garcia admits, “and I’m sorry.”
Trinity takes a moment to digest all of this, then nods a little, then takes a half-step closer as a sign of trust or whatever. “Thank you,” she says quietly and finds Garcia’s eyes. “I really… I appreciate all of that. Thank you.”
She watches Garcia’s posture relax slightly, then watches Garcia take her own small step forward, then watches Garcia’s expression shift into something that makes Trinity’s breath catch.
“Can I make it up to you with a cocktail?”

Summary
Will and El’s lives had always been intertwined. He couldn’t help but to think that he had been living in her shadow, that they both couldn’t exist together at the same time in the same place, when Will disappeared she appeared and when he came back she disappeared. They were not bound to be together, still, they were now siblings, twins. Two sides of the same coin. Two magnets doomed to repel each other that somehow defeated all the laws of physics and united together.
