Two years ago, Will Byers became the one and only Spider-Man. Of course, nobody really knows that. After a rough breakup, Will's lease is almost up, and he needs to find somewhere to live before his junior year of college, particularly with someone who won't ask too many questions about his "extracurriculars".
Three months ago, Mike Wheeler was looking for a roommate, and a couple of mutual connections between him and one Will Byers led to them spontaneously moving in together right before the school year started. Mike only wishes he could figure out what exactly Will does in his free time (maybe because he has a little crush on him).

But the smile vanished from his face almost immediately.
It dawned on him that he'd done exactly what he'd been afraid of. Without even realizing it, he'd given Will an ultimatum to have sex with him, disguising his own longing as a playful, lighthearted text.

Mike watches the shadows on Will’s throat as he speaks, the way they dance over his neck. “If I move any more, I’ll be touching you,” he says in a near-whisper. “Won’t that be a tag?”
“I think the rules are that I have to tag you,” Will says, just as quiet, “so touching me wouldn’t count.”
Mike swallows. “Okay, then… I lose? Or— I win, I guess? How will you tag me?”
“Like I said,” Will replies, his voice gradually losing its even nature, “you’ll just have to get closer.”
The Party is enjoying their final summer vacation before they all split off for college. When Mike and Will get a moment alone, secrets are shared and worries are eased, some during a (not-so-innocent) game of Marco Polo.

“Don’t you remember?” Lucas asked softly. “When we were kids? Like, sixth grade. We all said we’d be in each other’s weddings.” He chuckled. “And Mike called dibs on being my best man, and then you and Dustin started freaking out, because you were both gonna call dibs, so I said you could all do it. Remember? I need all my best men.”
Will puffed out his cheeks, running a hand through his hair. He already hadn’t lived up to that twice now. He’d missed Dustin’s wedding, he hadn’t even been invited to Mike’s (not that he’d expected to be.) This was his last shot.
And something about it seemed final. If he missed this, then that was it. He had no doubt they’d still try to reach out, but it wouldn’t be the same. He would’ve broken something he couldn’t fix.
He sighed.
“Okay.”
Ten years after the end of the world, Lucas and Max get married.

It’s been seven years since Will Byers vanished from Hawkins for the second time; seven years since he picked up his life, moved across the globe, and finally settled. He had found himself in a small town outside of Dublin with no desire to be anyplace else. He was happy. Ireland was great — beautiful sights, decent weather, and it was far. So, so far.
But when past feelings bubble from under the surface and start to poison his creative endeavors, he doesn’t think things could get any worse.
Seeing Mike Wheeler at his local grocery store quickly proves him wrong.
