Summary
After the extermination and Lucifer's long-awaited public appearance, Vox was forced by Velvette to go to a meeting with Lucifer and Charlie Morningstar. Thinking it'll be a short and simple offer of good will, he attended. In the midst of trying to extend his patience to handle the princess' enthusiastic idealism and Lucifer's obvious weariness and animosity, Charlie, annoyed by her father's rudeness, decides to retire early to give her father an opportunity to do better and converse with the Overlord alone.
The night continues with a drunk Vox, a confused Lucifer, and a development of a way more intimate relationship than she'd intended.

Summary
Alastor strategically presses his hand to Vox’s chest, fingers splaying above that madly beating heart, and he leans in—with an expression that hopefully comes across as seductive rather than desperate.
“I want you,” he purrs, “to kiss me.”
“I—Um. What brought this on?”
“Does it matter?”
“It matters to me.”
Oh, out of all the times for him to be considerate! Alastor wasn’t expecting such hesitation; frankly, he thought Vox would jump at the slightest indication of permission. Why does he have to rein in his greedy, grabby little hands now?
“This isn’t one of those times when I’m indulging you,” Alastor says after a pause. “You are to indulge me—without questioning what I get out of it. This is not a lead up to anything sexual, and you are not to get off. I just want you to kiss me until my lips are bruised and my jaw is sore and my tongue is numb. Can you manage that?”
Alastor is coming apart at the seams after returning from a summons from Lilith. He decides to try purging the taste of her from his mouth with that of Vox’s.

'The first notes ring out and he recognises the song instantly: La Vie En Rose. Unmistakeable, even when the pianist is hesitant at first, feeling his way along in the dark. And then...Vox starts singing. Softly, in French. In perfect French. Alastor is only human. When Vox turns that smile toward him again, singing a love song in perfect fucking French, he has to feign coughing into his hand to hide the telling red colour on his face.'
Alastor owns the only jazz club in town, Blanché. Vox is a self-identified crazy person looking to make a career as a musician. When Alastor hires someone a little different to bring in a new crowd, he finds he may have bitten off more than he can chew.

The white blouse with frilled sleeves hung loosely over his shoulders, moving delicately as he reached for the menu. Though his chest was flat, it rose and fell as he caught his breath.

Vox's smile grew; his eyes softened. There was a buzz of electricity that jumped across his antennae, the residual static rippling down through their shared contact and raising the fur on Alastor’s legs.
A giggle slipped from Alastor’s lips at the tingle. He rested a hand on Vox’s warm head. “What is it?”
“Nothing,” Vox hummed, his voice warm too, “I just like your name.”
“I like it too,” Alastor smirked.
Vox stuttered slightly between his chuckles and Alastor preened just a bit at making his friend laugh so easily.
“I like yours too."
