By midnight, Esteban had already planned to turn back. The dashboard clock glowed faint gray, the steady rhythm of the wipers syncing with the hum of tires over wet asphalt. He told himself they’d call it a night soon. One more stretch, then home.

Esteban couldn’t have named the song if his life depended on it. Something about karma, or maybe revenge, an ex? It all blurred together in the lyrics. Not really his taste. But Ollie knew every word, or at least he pretended to.Or: The car crash fic no one asked for after Ollie and Esteban said they took a roadtrip together.
