The world was lit ablaze in a thunderstorm of nuclear proportions. Boreal discharges and the ashes of its 20th century wake snuffed the earth wholly—the blanketing debris of irradiated snow and soot the final living monument to the aspirations of mankind. The world found itself the sandbox of torrential terror; the man made ionized clouds slithered over the horizon pouring a crystalline death. Each flash of the detonated charges a blip and fading light like lightning in the dark, carrying with it a tearing of the wind that scattered like howling thunder across the seas.
This was the end and the beginning of a world for one unfortunately fortunate soul. The false suns were his world now, the cloudy pale of the thundering cloudy skies his only loyal company. The man was a kindling wick of the past that now found himself the unwitting observer of his own existence. It was a sad and lonely haunt. The traveling was an aimless will of his instinct to exist another day. The world was quiet in a way that was suffocating; there was no other living soul, just his thoughts which was loud enough for him to treat like they belonged to the lips of someone else.

There's a thick code of crimson coating Tyler's hand, strong and metallic in smell so overpowering that he has to hold his breathe through his mouth to keep from gagging at the scent. The bright lights of the room are overbearing sending his vision swirling and sets every nerve on his body to ten. He'd killed the woman, there's blood pooling from her throat forming a small halo of red around her body clotting in her hair, he wants to rush to her, hold the wound in hopes that enough pressure could undo what his knife had done. No, he wishes the blood on his hands were his own because at least then he'd have a way out of this hell hole, out of this enlistment. he feels his breathing studder as the man he'd come to know as commander benny glances over him, and he forces himself to breathe through his nose, he can't move. he knows he'd been called to attention.
"You did good Tyler" Benny's gravelly voice breaks through, and the elite agency standard he'd done everything right, logically, ruthlessly.
