“No.” Tony shook his head, heart beating wild and rapid, the monitors he was hooked up to a cacophony of sound. “You might have missed it, Strange, but last time I tried to prepare the world for what was coming, half the universe died. Why me?” Why not someone else, why not Steve fucking Rogers, the man with the plan, why not Rhodey, why not Pepper, why him?
“Because you’re a scientist. A futurist. We chose you, Stark. But you have to accept.”
Tony didn’t want to.
“You’re going to regret it,” Tony said quietly. The beeping of the monitors had slowed, the panic had faded away leaving only a quiet exhaustion.
“I don’t think so.” And Strange sounded so sure.
Tony closed his eyes. He wanted to say no, wanted to let go of the weight of the world that had already crushed him. But he couldn’t do that. Couldn’t do that when Strange had used his last chance to save the world, banking on him. “Alright.” He swallowed hard, forcing himself to nod. “Okay. Send me back.”

Who plays Superman? Good question. He started out as played by Tyler Hoechlin, who plays the Man of Steel on the TV show Supergirl. However, he won't stay Hoechlin, and has been both Henry Cavill and Christopher Reeve at various times. The more playful Superman is mainly Reeve and the more serious one is mainly Cavill. Clark Kent himself is mainly Hoechlin.Who plays Batman? Another good question! Initially, he was George Clooney, as that fic is one of the 'played for laughs' fics. However, he's been shifting between Clooney and Ben Affleck recently, though there was a touch of Christian Bale in one of his appearances.

Tony followed Steve into the group home. Steve was so excited. He didn’t have the heart to tell him that he had never really felt the need to have kids.
His own dad hadn’t been the best example. He thought he and Steve would be content on their own but slowly Steve had worn him down. He really wanted to be a dad. Tony had finally agreed because he loved Steve. He could learn to love one kid, right? Or maybe he’d just hide away in the lab from it and let Steve do the parenting.
“Tony? You said you were cool with this but you look like you want to bolt.” Steve took his hand, “I don’t want to force you into this if you don’t want it.”
Tony forced a smile onto his face, “No, I’m just nervous.”
Steve’s face filled with understanding, “You’re nothing like your dad.”
