Summary
“Been here a couple months now,” Tommy says as they sit at a simple table with some half-registered drinks and desserts, stating it so easily like he read Wilbur’s mind. “It actually took me a while to find you.”
Wilbur huffs. “Well. You found me.”
“I did.”
They sit with that for a while, letting the cafe chatter fill the silence between them. There’s a whole lifetime between them, a whole world, conversations that can never be had and apologies that could never be said within a single day, if either of them were even brave enough to say them at all. And they were brave, yes, stupid even, but people change and for this, what was solid between them once upon a time, they were simply cowards.
“I don’t-” Tommy begins first, stopping to clutch tightly at his mug. He simply relaxes after a few moments, voice softening, as he goes, “I missed you.”
Wilbur’s heart squeezes.

It's never a smart idea to make impulsive decisions at late hours of the night, yet here he is anyway. Shadow and Sonic sure do seem close these days, don't they? Eggman doesn't exactly approve of his pseudo-son's new attachment.
He gives Shadow an ultimatum: clean up his act as a boyfriend and ask Sonic out on a proper date already. This wouldn't be such a big deal if it weren't for the simple fact that Shadow and Sonic... aren't together.
