The man let out a startled yelp as he was yanked forward, his shoes briefly leaving the floor as he was yanked nose-to-nose with Roman’s fury. His eyes bulged wide with terror, and up close, the doctor looked about five seconds away from fainting.
Somewhere behind him, voices were calling Roman’s name, but the thundering pulse in his ears drowned it all out. Nothing mattered except this doctor, the one person who could tell him this was all just some minor error, and Cody just needed a shot or a prescription that would snap him back to the husband who knew Roman’s voice.
“Explain. Now,” Roman growled, his voice low and dangerous. His blood surged hotter when the doctor only whimpered in response.
