Fond excitement lit up within Saturn’s eyes. “Perfect!” he cooed. “Right now?” He chanced a look at the canvas—still left to dry in the little sunlight—and then back at Saturn, nodding roughly in a wordless yes. “Perfect!” The repeated word had even more emphasis the second time. “But I did have a question for you.”
Uranus cocked his head to the side. “A question?”

“Oh, don’t be like that, Erebus,” Saturn chimed in, a pout audible enough in his voice that Uranus could imagine his expression without even looking up at him. “Jupi just thought he’d save us some time!” Erebus huffed. “And look on the bright side, darling. At least we’re heading home and not on the way there! We don’t have to worry about timeliness.”

“Uranus!”
He groaned as the sound of his name pierced through his repetitive half-dreams of picking up his phone only to realize he’d never actually touched it. “No,” he muttered thickly, his mouth weirdly dry. “Sleep.”
Saturn gave a familiar delighted laugh as the mattress dipped beside him.
“Oh, I think you’ll want to wake up, darling,” he crooned, voice as delighted as his laugh had been. “Don’t you remember what you wanted today?” Uranus frowned into the pillow as his sluggish thoughts swirled, struggling through the haze until they all snapped into place at once and he remembered exactly what Saturn meant.
