“Order of the Fallen Star?” Jon repeats with confusion, and he can see Arthur freeze. The mysterious second voice stops, along with the faint buzz at the back of his mind.
He feels distinctly as if he’s made a mistake.

He’s half-expecting a flicker of either guilt of annoyance in Arthur’s expression when he asks, but it doesn’t come. He’s reacting the same way as John– like he’s been caught off guard. John’s eyes flick away from him.
“He’s been… okay.”
Something is absolutely wrong. It’s so obvious that some part of Noel almost wants to laugh.
