It was something of a surprise, for an alpha to have such a calm gentle touch - or so said Geri. She’d looked at the way he handled her favourite mare and decided then and there that she would allow him to mate her.
“After all, if he can handle wild horses, I figured he could probably handle a redhead omega,” she joked at their wedding.

It’s his fucking cat instincts that seem to have a problem with them.

In a world full of animal shifters, Max being able to turn into a cat shouldn't be that weird. It wouldn't be, if Jos hadn't spent Max's entire life convincing the world Max could turn into a lion and not a house cat. He didn’t know what it meant to long for a simple touch, a brush over his thigh, a knee or a shoulder bumping into his. A quick, sudden, unexpected hug, or a silly request – fancy a dance, Maxie?
Daniel making him spin. How come you cannot waltz, you youngsters don’t know how to party properly these days. Daniel keeping a steady hand on the small of his back, or helping him into his jacket when he was struggling to find the sleeve.
Before Daniel, Max had been…self-sufficient, so to say. He had never been touch-shy - who in their right minds could ever not want to be touched ever? - but he has never been taught how to ask for it either, so it was just a battle he couldn’t win.Over the years he spends with Daniel, Max realizes he has been starving for touch, love and affection all along.
