I’m a sucker for aged-up content and angst, so this fic was practically perfect for me. I loved the concept, divorced fics are always so appealing and fun to play with. I really enjoyed the author’s writing style, and especially the plot and characterisation.
Even though this fic is short, it has a way to grapple your attention and connect with the characters. The interactions in here feel so canon and the descriptions are absolutely wonderful!!
I recommended this fic to a friend and they said that they nearly cried :’)
Daybreak fics are extremely scarce and this was like finding a diamond in the rough,,, loved it thoroughly -

Octavian’s pov is so.. I’ve always been fascinated by his character and this fic really makes me enjoy him more.
I wish I could say more on how i like this fic but i seriously can’t find the words. If you asked me how much I liked this fic I would’ve s started screaming in response.
It’s so well written and everyone feels in character. I enjoyed Octavian’s slow descent into madness in, the way he justifies his actions with the knowledge he has. In his POV, everyone else is a traitor to him or New Rome and only he is in the right.
It’s really interesting and I just—I literally love Octavian so much. There’s close to nothing when it comes to content about him so I’m so glad I found this fic.

This is EXACTLY the kind of fic i’ve been craving for ever since I read The Dark Prophecy. I really wish Rick had expanded more on Lit’s character and this fic encapsulates how i think he would act perfectly!!
He is such a complicated character and Rick totally missed an amazing opportunity to tap more into his struggles that he inherited from commodus and Midas.
I enjoyed the author’s writing style and all the dialogue was amazingly well-done. Litpollo’s interactions were so cute and I loved how this fic showed Lit struggling to integrate into CHB. The author had a magnificent way of writing character struggles, especially with Apollo’s self identity crisis.
Overall, this fic is perfect. Everything I needed in one place; more Litpollo content, More Lit content in general and expansion of character flaws. This fic will be carrying my Litpollo obsession for the unseeable future

I've never read percy jackson but holy shit did I love that SHJAHDIHSAUpdate; I've read all the Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus and Trials of Apollo books and decided to revisit this fic. After previously reading this fic blind and not knowing anything of the pjo canon, actually reading the Percy Jackson books made me appreciate everything more thoroughly.
The Solangelo mention made me so incredibly happy!!! Also, the writing still holds up even a year after it was published. I literally forgot most of what happened in the fic besides a basic outline. I found myself giggling and being shocked by what happened. Brance's interactions are still so cute and their bonding are adorable. I genuinely appreciate this more after reading the books and all!!! -

this is literally so good,, I loved that the story made actual sense and wasn't just a shameless way to make brance happen. I enjoyed the parts where they bonded and became closer to each other, those felt really sweet (even tho they were literally trapped in a basement together)

It is shocking how I haven't bookmarked this sooner.
Firstly, the writing is so beautiful. It is very descriptive and conveys so much emotion, sometimes I get shocked at some of the lines written, like jaw-dropped shocked; "His control was slipping, and every brick in the house would come right down with it." Makes me giddy when I think of it.
The plot is also wonderful, and I love how all the points of the stories affect the actual plot and aren't there just to fill in the fic, there's so far not been any filler chapters. All the chapters have been plot-related (or character related i.e. chapter 24; focuses on how Mike was bullied and hates being laughed at) and the characterisation. THE CHARACTERISATION.
Beautiful, wonderful. I loved how the author wrote the characters. Will and Mike both feel so canon, their emotions, thoughts, and reasoning for things, it just fits perfectly in canon. There is so much tension as well and I love the fact that they are secretly dating (as of writing this at least) and I'm so excited to see how the story plays out.
overall, 10/10, is basically carrying my happiness on its back

Mike feels a little or a lot, never controlled and always one extreme or the other. It’s visible in the way he snaps at his friends when he gets too angry or too upset, and it’s audible in his relentless stutter that appears when there’s attention on him. It’s laced in the lies that he grinds out through his teeth, claiming that he’s fine, and it’s in the fight to appear as though he’s swimming gently through a body of water when in reality he can’t keep afloat.
His feelings are like waves, gentle or all consuming as they rise and fall with the tide, and nothing drowns him quite like Will Byers.

I was smiling the whole time I was reading, it's all so sweet and adorable seeing Mike grow while subconsciously liking Will. This whole story was adorable, AND MIKE'S CONFESSION SCENE HAD ME CRYING ACTUALLY HAPPY TEARS. WHEN HE ASKED WILL TO BE HIS BOYFRIEND WHILE RECREATING HOW THEY FIRST MET HAD ME BLUSHING. MY HEART MELTED
I seriously love this story so much, I'm not really a 5 times +1 kind of person, but this fic is too amazing to not like. Gay Mike is also one of my favourite headcanons, while Bi Mike is just as awesome I feel like Gay Mike just fits better. I also loved El and Mike's conversation about him being gay and how he talked to her about 'being different and 'ignoring something for a long time', it was all so beautifully written.

This is actually so beautiful, when they kissed in chapter 5 I literally jumped out of my chair and celebrated. I LOVED the author's writing style, and how they wrote the characters. Everyone felt so canon and surreal. I loved that this was in Mike's POV since most fics are usually written from Will's POV and it was a nice change to see. I also enjoyed Mike being oblivious and dumb like he is in the show and the Wheeler siblings dynamic. Everything is written with such an unexplainable, tremendous meaning and it's all so amazing to read. The whole plot is just amazing and this is definitely a new favourite read!! :D

CHAPTERS??? LIKE BROOOO AND THE DYNAMIC OH MY GOD I'M JDKEBEIEHSJWHAJSJSKSI would actually kiss the ground the author walked on if I ever saw them this fic is the best fucking story I’ve ever read. If I was dying this would be the last thing I want to see. I’m not even finished with the fic but it’s already my favourite thing in the world besides sleeping
The writing is so amazing it’s actually so poetic and sounds like something out of a detailed and beautiful piece of vintage literature. You can feel the emotion and it’s written in such a way that you will never get lost in the story, even if you just skim through the words. Everything is described in such a perfect way that makes it so easy to picture everything in your mind and make you feel some type of way.
The character development and build-up are magnificent and so well done. All the characters are written beautifully, no one is inaccurate even if their character personality is literally changed for the sake of the plot (cough, Mike, cough) everything feels so real, all the emotions and how the characters feel. It’s all made in such a way that is so extraordinary and otherworldly.
Everything in a scene is written in such a detailed way, instead of saying that it was sunny or that the character was upset, the author would put depth into the action/feeling. They would write little things that made the whole story better and to better convey the surroundings or the character’s emotions.
Also the way this writer writes about Mike and Will’s feelings for each other? Perfect.
It shows Will, who only thought of Mike as aesthetically beautiful, to think of Mike as someone who he could love and cherish. Making Will so protective of Mike when they’ve only known each other for like 2 months really shows how much Will has fallen for Mike and that’s such an amazing way to show his love for Mike.
And Mike, who is a loner and closed off, opening up to Will is all we need to know that Mike really likes Will. He worries that Will won’t like his true self and tries to push him away and something like that is just so wonderful and you can really tell they both love each other.
The connection between them is written in such a real and true way that I would be convinced that this is a real story about two people.
If this book had a physical copy I would actually cry and thank god for blessing us with such a beautiful piece of literature I can bring anywhere without having to use my phone, I don’t even believe in god. Fuck, I’d print this while fic out if it meant I could bring a physical copy with me wherever I went.
This book is a must read and people who say they don’t like it is a red flag and must be taken out immediately
