“What?” Mike stuttered out at the sudden request.
“Your armour. I mean-your chestplate. The broken part at least.” Will started to pink slightly at the cheeks.
Mike nodded at the request and started to try pull the chest peace over his head. He started to struggle, the pain in his arm a dull ache stopping him from making any more movements.
“Let me.” A hushed voice escaped Will, who was already by the side of him, fingers reaching under the armour. Warm fingers just grazing Mike’s skin as he lifted and the tunic rose slightly to reveal the lower part of his stomach. A rush of warm ran through Mike’s body at the slight touch.
All that be heard in the room was their breathing.

Summary
It’s hot in Hawkins. Well, maybe. Mike doesn’t know. He’s too busy nearly 4000km away on the coast of California, celebrating the last week of summer he has with his friends before they return to university. Another thing he doesn’t know is if he can still swim after years of not being in water, or if he’s anywhere near strong enough to resist the riptide his parents warned him about. But what’s a little proving to Max that he’s not a pussy and could go deeper in the water than her? Nothing bad could happen, right?
OR Mike finds out he is in fact not stronger than a riptide and takes advantage of the ‘afterlife’ when it blesses him with a cute boy, even if he is a little… fishy.

Mike unfolds his gangly legs so that he can stretch, shaking the stiffness out of his joints before he stands. He dusts off the back of his jeans and makes a lame attempt at dusting off his hands too, even though he knows it’s useless. There's been dirt under his fingernails and caked around his cuticles for as long as he can remember. He turns to face the headstone, takes in the blue and yellow flowers he’s rested at its base and the words he’s had memorized for four years now.
Here lies William Byers, 1971-1988. Beloved son, brother, friend, sorcerer.
“I wish I was with you,” he whispers, eyes slipping closed while his heart aches, “I know you died, like, a stupid long time ago but I still feel closer to you than anyone else. I know you’d never leave me.”
He doesn’t get an answer. He never does.

Summary
Mike Wheeler, a recent marine biology graduate, works at the coastal aquarium in the small town where he was born, where marine animals are rehabilitated before being released back into the ocean. Nights there are usually quiet: feeding the sea lions, checking the tanks, and making sure the gate connecting the tanks to the sea stays closed.
Until one night, he finds blood in the water.
Hidden in a corner of the tank are two drenched and terrified strangers: a wounded boy and a girl who keeps staring at him as if she’s ready to pounce. They say few words, seem not to understand the human world… and there is something deeply strange about them. Their eyes shine too brightly in the light. Their skin doesn’t feel quite human. And the only way they could have entered the tank would have been by passing through the enormous underwater gate that connects to the ocean.
As Mike tries to help them, he realizes they aren’t just drug addicts as he thought.

Mike hesitated momentarily, then said, “Is someone there?”
The person in hiding peered over the rock with the slightest apprehension, like they knew they had broken cover. Then, ever so slowly, they revealed themself.
All at once, Mike’s breath hitched in his throat.
What in the Seven Realms was that?
It was half man, half…sea creature. The torso and head of a man, and the lower half of a dolphin, or perhaps the tail of a fish. A very large, heavy, long fish tail that could easily weigh over two hundred pounds, replete with translucent golden fins and scales that glimmered. His face was a sight to behold; he was perhaps the prettiest thing Mike had ever laid eyes on. Soft features that sloped into a strong curved nose, full lips, softer eyes that could lure in any weak-willed man with just a look.
While searching for the highly sought-after blood gemstone, Prince Mike Wheeler ends up shipwrecked on the coast of the very island he was trying to find.
He doesn’t expect to meet a wary creature that nurses him back to health, and he definitely doesn’t expect to actually grow fond of him.

As he explores the world of Pandora she breaths a life into him that he hadn't realized he lost. A kind Na'vi helps him to learn about and explore his new home and he soon finds himself stuck in the middle of a conflict he hadn't asked for. Torn between the world he knew and the one that saved him he must pick a side. All while struggling with feelings he shouldn't have.
Tldr: Set in the Avatar universe, Mike is a avatar driver and Will is a Na'vi that find there fast developing relationship tested by war and loss.
