"It wasn’t worth it... Why would you save me?" He wept, clutching Will even tighter. The sound of his grief echoed down the empty, ruined street. He knew the aliens would find him if he kept crying, but he could not make himself stop. He no longer cared. They could have him; they could do anything they wanted. None of it mattered now that the one he loved was gone.
What was life worth without him?
"I want you back," he sobbed, the words raw and broken, each breath wracking his body. Then, as if out of nowhere, a small voice slipped into the chaos.
"Is that really what you want, Mike Wheeler?"
It’s the summer of 1989. Vecna and the Mind Flayer are dead and Will wants to enjoy his life along with his friends and family by doing everything he wants to do that he had missed ever since he had been taken by Vecna. Swimming, more D&D, joining parties with his friends, drinking, maybe getting a little high… And most of his relationship with Mike which turned into some weird totally not just platonic best friend behavior.

Summary
Mike came from a lineage of gunslingers (assassins), chosen by the Archangel Gabriel himself. At the age of five, he was trained by his mother’s twin sister, Noctis Childress. By ten, he gained his powers, by twelve, he lost them. This might change the story or not at all.
(This is a rewrite of Season 5 Vol. 2 to provide a backstory explaining why Mike started acting like he’d undergone a lobotomy—because, in this version, he actually did. Kind of?)

no knowledge of deltarune is required to read this but i'd recommend playing it or at least watching a playthrough first because it's such a peak game
[i have no idea where this came from. anyways haha isn't it funny that deltarune also has at least 3 mikes isn't that crazy
