Hockey is the one thing that Jack’s always been good at. He’s never been academic or had an outgoing personality that opened doors. School was a bore, being at home was a bore. The only time he felt alive was at an ice rink. It was in his blood, a generational love passed down. It was the only viable career for him.
The devils want him, the players welcome him with open arms and he finds a group of friends with a talented team. His rookie year isn’t the best, it certainly doesn’t let him prove himself for the athlete he is. He reaches through the darkness and finally starts to shine. People fall in love with him, the seemingly natural talent and his good looks. Even through injury, the media still loves him.
Or Jack overworks himself and Nico finally notices.

Summary
Malcolm Wilkerson, born to two parents who were loving to each other. The middle child, the child with the brain and the child with the harsh expectations on his shoulders. He notices it from an early age, the way he seems to work differently from everyone. They struggle with basic literature while he can read complex sentences, he can do mental maths while they have to write the problem out. He wants to be a normal kid with normal friends but life just has a way of sticking a knife right in his back.
Or Malcolm’s struggles with his mental health, throughout his life.

“Whoa, you really did that to yourself?” Booth asks, his face shaken. He’s seen countless dead bodies but nothing has shook him quite like the lines of red and white on Sweets’ arms. Self mutilation, he couldn’t understand why someone would do that to themselves.
“Most of them are old.” Sweets replies while tugging down his sleeves, cursing internally for letting them ride up in the first place. “Let’s get back to the case.” He can’t look Booth in the eyes.
Or Booth finally talks to Sweets about why he was in the hospital.

Summary
He’s going to the bathroom for a smoke courtesy of his school's new ban on smoking policy. As soon as he opens the door he sees it, written on the stall in some red ink that could be lipstick but looks more like fake blood. It’s not unusual for mean things to be written on bathroom stalls, it is unusual for them to be about him. The message is there, loud and clear.

Malcolm opened the door and saw a freshman, a little taller with curly brown hair and bright blue eyes. He was wearing jeans and a Harvard hoodie. “I’m not selling anything. I’m trying to quit.” Malcolm immediately says, trying not to sound as annoyed as he feels.
“Really? I brought it from you just last week.” Malcolm suddenly remembers, he was with a friend at the time and he’d paid three thousand up front. That money would be life-changing for his family.

He could tell almost as soon as he woke up, the anger simmering just under his skin making his skin fit wrong, his chest feeling full enough to burst.
