His interest piqued even further upon the discovery that their John Doe was wearing the dog tags of a Chris Redfield, a man Albert knows for a fact died two years prior saving the lives of his friends in the line of duty.

Wesker inched toward his bedroom and kept as quiet as possible. Then, he heard a sneeze. He blinked and stopped in his tracks. Another sneeze. He lowered his shoulders and began to walk at a normal pace again.
Chris sniffled when he walked in. He was bundled under a few blankets and a box of tissues was placed on the bedside table. He was red in the face and looked like he was sweating, but he was shivering. Wesker crossed the room and bent at the knees to drop to eye level. He placed his palm on Chris’s forehead and it came away burning hot and covered in sweat. He frowned and began to peel back the blankets his boyfriend had piled on top of him.
“Wesker,” Chris whined. “‘M cold. Give those back.”

Summary
Albert watched as Christopher moved around the kitchen, making coffee and gathering ingredients for breakfast. Their son sat on the floor in front of the television, watching quietly as cartoon creatures gave him some sort of moral lesson for the day. Bobby had gotten used to Albert’s presence in their home quickly, often found following along when Albert walked through any of the rooms.
It was something that had, somehow, only become endearing to him.
The boy was five, precocious and serious, and he learned quickly. He reminded Albert of the Wesker Project, but only for a few seconds before he would laugh about something. Humor was allowed here. Laughter was a familiar sound in the home Christopher had built for their son before Albert had found them. If he were one to believe in such things, he would thank a god of some type for the fact that he had been allowed near them.
There are some growing pains involved with finding out, five years later, that you're a father. Albert Wesker learns to navigate through them.
He is not alone.

“Captain Wesker!” One of the R.P.D officers who's name Albert could never care to really commit to memory, came rushing into his office looking breathless and alarmed. “You're needed in the jail cells. It's Redfield sir.”
The young frazzled officer looked absolutely shaken as Albert rose from his seat to investigate what exactly happened to his pointman. “Does he need medical attention?”
If Chris was in the jail cells, and something serious happened, it was most likely accompanied by an injury. Why nobody thought to call his phone for this was beyond him, but he relented when the officer stammered.
“Y-yeah. I think so. There's blood and he's- he's just not acting right.”

A routine patrol goes sideways for Chris, forcing Albert Wesker to have to re-evaluate his pointman's status. What he discovers is an unexpected interference from someone else in Umbrella, and a pleasant surprise in Chris' reaction to his beloved Captain in particular.-
