Summary
Avid's not the one who was ever meant to face the vampires they hunt directly. It's a dangerous trade, after all and his best skill were his sharp wits, as opposed to her skills with the crossbow.
But fate had other plans, and now that he'd been bitten, Oakhurst seems like the place he'll belong forever more.
Or...
Avid was bitten instead of his partner, making him one of the starting vampires but he's a completely unprepared fledgling.

Summary
"It was definitely tempting, the thought of being able to show the village and the whole internet that she had found a real vampire through her paranormal YouTube channel. Her channel that, admittedly, only had two subscribers; Scott, who just wanted to be supportive, and Avid, who just enjoyed watching what she posted. And not to mention the fact that the comments on every video were just Avid making pointed vampire comments at Scott, and Scott replying with the clown emoji."
Or: Oakhurst is a more modern town and Pyro is found dead with what looks like a bite. Avid convinces Shelby to investigate herself and prove that monsters are real, meanwhile Drift is trying to solve this definitely normal murder case on her own.
Featuring Drift/Shelby falling for each other, Avid getting stuck listening to his roommate and best friend rant about each other, Scott bullying Avid and definitely not being a vampire, and a murder case that you likely already know the culprit(s) of but will hopefully read anyway because everything in between is cool and new :D
I’d also like to add that, while the town is definitely modern now, guns aren’t real. Cause I wanna.The title is from Touch-Tone Telephone by Lemon Demon!

Summary
Owen: Scott, can you let me in. I'm outside.
Scott turned to the front door, spotting a fairly unamused man, wavy brown hair and dressed in a dark turtleneck with the words "THEATER KID" embroidered onto the fabric in the top right. The blue haired man squinted before shrugging. Who was he to judge his future employee? He himself was not the most normal sighs, so it'd make sense for his employee's to be misfits as well. He turned the knob, letting the man in, closing it in turn after he had entered. Owen didn't greet the other man, promptly beginning to investigate the shop, as if taking notes.
"It….looks different from before it closed down," the brown haired says, squinting at every detail in the walls.
OR
Scott reopens a cafe he hasn't seen in six years. What was he thinking again? With a new band of misfits, especially one who's convinced he's a vampire- and hot? -the lord knows how long he'll survive in sanity. Take it back, how long will Owen survive?

Summary
Scott goes to turn Avid into a vampire only to find that Avid is already a vampire, but there's a catch, there's always a goddamn catch.
Explanations happen and Scott and Owen are less than pleased. Overdue damage control and therapy ensues.
OR - Scott and Owen, being older vampires, get mad at hearing how Avid's been treated by other vampires in the past. Also older vampires, like Scott, are naturally very instinct driven, this includes being protected over fledglings.
