Things didn't exactly go to plan.
OR: spirited away from the fire nation by their mother and abandoned to a life of poverty and running, zuko and azula learn to manage. right until the avatar and his friends drop way too cheerfully into their life, and the war returns to them in earnest. a story of hope, hardship and learning to believe in humanity again. zuko wants absolutely nothing to do with it, thank you.

Summary
A soul is a hardy thing. A lot of people say they're fragile, easy to break, and more glass-like than anything. If that was true, then there was no logical reason why Ren and Martyn would keep finding each other. If that was true, things like death games, dangerous jobs, and even your run of the mill magic accidents that definitely didn't have anything to do with how long you did or didn't stir this potion or that surely would have damaged them. It isn't though, so no matter how many times they wake up somewhere new, there is always something familiar waiting for them. Really, the question is just if they'll figure it out or not.

Pizza dies to a flurry of arrows, and Scar follows her to his grave in a haze of blinding crimson. Grian, sole survivor of the Sands, joins forces with Dogwarts, his once sworn enemy.
The truth of the matter, as it is wont to do, reveals itself to be much more complicated than first thought. Martyn tries his best to follow the unravelling thread.

Welcome to my Limited Life superhero au! There is also inspiration taken from empires seasons 1 and 2, all the other seasons of the Life Series, and Hermitcraft! There might also be some cameos from other MCYTs here and there just for fun and cause I don't have a life. Head the tags. A collection of all the stories in Traveling Thieves, which is my Dark Fantasy, Hybrid Slavery, super angsty AU that spawned from my Whumptober 2023 prompt fills! Currently in semi-chronological order except for the first fic in the series, which will always be “I see the danger, it’s written there in your eyes” which if anyone does want to read the series in chronological order, I’d like them to start there! ^-^ I also occasionally place some stories in specific locations that I think work best for the reading order that aren't exactly where they'd be timeline-wise!

Summary
Welcome to Hidden Life.
In this brand new Life Series, all 18 participants start with a random amount of lives. However, they have no idea how many lives they start with, and it continues that way until they turn red. Just like in previous series, once they turn red, they become hostile, and must try to kill all the other players. And if they die while on red, they are out of the series.
This season also brings back the boogeyman, meaning that every day, one to three people are chosen at random to gain the objective of killing someone before the day ends, or they will be automatically set to their last life. Also, a new role has been added: The Angel. Only one person can be the angel per session, and they gain the power of gifting a life to someone else.

The story may be familiar, but one character has changed. The young warrior is lying about his past, but this time his reason is incredibly different. This time, he carries with him and hides the pain of a thousand lives, of long grief and of suffering.

To Zuko, life is a stage and an important play is taking place in front of him. He believes that it is his destiny to keep the story on track no matter what and ensure everyone gets a happy ending. Things would be so much easier if the characters would stop dying, killing him, and/or ending up in some sort of catastrophic situation. It doesn't really matter, he will reset the stage as many times as it takes until everything is perfect.
